The Directorate of Communications is the principal point of contact for the international media, providing accreditation, information and coverage of the Republic of Türkiye.
Following the official visit of the President of the Republic of Niger, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, to Türkiye, Head of Communications Prof. Dr. Burhanettin Duran described the talks as an important milestone in bilateral relations. He stressed that Türkiye and Niger are deepening cooperation in security, energy, mining and development on the basis of equal partnership and mutual respect, and that the visit reflected the growing trust between the two countries.
Reaffirming Türkiye's Africa policy, the Directorate underlined that Ankara's engagement with the continent rests on sovereignty, mutual benefit and a win-win approach. Diplomatic representation, trade volume and humanitarian cooperation with African nations have expanded significantly, positioning Türkiye as a reliable long-term partner rather than a transactional actor.
During the official talks held at the Presidential Complex, Türkiye and Niger signed a series of agreements spanning defence, energy, mining and infrastructure. The accords are expected to accelerate joint investment and technical cooperation, while strengthening institutional ties between the two governments.
In his message, Duran drew attention to the plight of children living through war and occupation, particularly in Gaza, and condemned attacks that target the most vulnerable. He reiterated Türkiye's determination to defend the rights of innocent children everywhere and to keep their suffering on the international agenda.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Duran highlighted the role of CİMER — the Presidency's Communication Center — in bringing citizens and the state closer together. He congratulated the participating children, noting that listening to citizens of every age strengthens public trust and participatory governance.
